At Rhubarb Retail we deliver sharp retail design ideas, we produce tantalising, engaging store interiors, and we indulge our own - and your - creativity every step of the way.

Led by experienced retail designers, we’re good at what we do. Our compelling store designs leave customers with a fresh brand experience, and irresistible aftertaste, enticing them back to your store time and time again.

We do this by digging to the core of your brand and pulling its essence into your store design. We'll analyse your space, its' function and your customers. We'll work with your ideas, blending them with our own interior design experience to produce great results time after time.

Rhubarb Retail is a cross-company team of retail interior designers, with practical experience of retail planning, design and architecture.

Drawing on a vast retail project history from parent companies C A Design Services and 3d Architects we develop interior design concepts that not only look great, but also include the business insight and consumer understanding that adds real spice to your stores.

Our aim is to develop compelling store designs that not only leave customers with a fresh brand experience, but are also sensitive to a retailer’s need to drive sales and reduce operating costs.

Our designs are still developed around our client's tastes; we use fresh, up-to-date ideas for every design project, whatever the size and budget.
With an established team that includes interior designers, architects, surveyors, 3D visualisers, software developers and space planners, we have a complete understanding of how clients, their staff, and their consumers interact with retail space.

This means we can really focus our retail designs on grabbing attention and drawing footfall, whilst also enhancing your brand flavours.

So, if you're a high street retailer thinking about freshening-up your stores, expanding your presence or diversifying your retail offer - contact Rhubarb Retail and discover a unique combination of creativity and real-world practicality.

It's more than our job to create outstanding store design, it's our passion.

High Street Health Check

“Rhubarb Retail approached things differently and their High Street Health Check has resulted in a really cohesive internal strategy for growth. It motivated the different departments and offered a range of options that we are starting to implement in our new concept Holland & Barrett stores across the UK”.

Max Max

Max

Retail store design

Max launched in 2004 and is now the largest own-label, value fashion retailer in the Middle East.

Having undergone significant growth in recent years, their store formats have constantly evolved as each new store opens; offering a slightly different customer experience depending on the age of store visited.

With continued plans for expansion, Max wanted to undertake a full review of their estate to better understand the relative merits of the different design methodologies. The company wanted to create a Store of the Future, and implement this concept across the entire retail estate.

The team at Rhubarb Retail know the importance of clear navigation, easy way-finding and flexibility so a practical approach was required. Rhubarb calls this approach “The Retail Review”.

A full report was put together to highlight Rhubarb Retail’s findings. This featured annotated photographs, concept sketches, marked-up plans and a detailed set of recommendations that should be incorporated in the Store of the Future concept.

Partnering with Rhubarb Retail, has enabled Max to make use of a well-informed and wholly impartial review of their estate, helping the retailer to make crucial, strategic decisions for their continued success.

Eden Tyres

Eden Tyres is a family owned tyre fitting and auto services supplier with 9 retail outlets across the Midlands.

As the business expanded Eden Tyres wanted to communicate their brand more coherently across their estate, giving the impression of a chain retailer, and communicating honest advice and good customer service through functional, friendly, customer facing areas.

A proposal for a new-build site was underway and Rhubarb Retail was brought onboard to design the staff and customer facing areas. An initial consultation identified key operational activities and functions that would be carried out in the space. This was based on the knowledge of how existing spaces at other sites had been used, in addition to the client's expectations of how the space should look and feel.

Rhubarb Retail then produced a concept presentation demonstrating options for the new spatial layout. We included mood boards, sample boards, hand drawn sketches and computer generated visuals of the space. Turnaround was fast, from the initial briefing meeting in early June 2011, to production of concept design presentation, sign off from client and completion of full working drawing package at the end of July 2011.

The new build site and all internal works were finally completed in February of 2012. This was a great project for Rhubarb Retail. Working with a forward thinking client, we were able to demonstrate our conceptual and creative skills, and the technical knowledge necessary to take a concept through to reality.
